A severe disability or chronic disease of a child puts families in a state of emergency. The family's ressources are redistributed and the psychological burden is very high for all family members over a short or long period of time. Siblings can subconsciously fade into the background and are left alone with their feelings, fears and worries.
The GESCHWISTERKINDER project focuses on
siblings. The film provides an emotional insight into the life of four affected siblings in their daily balance between consideration, sibling love and their own feelings and needs.
The documentary film is part of the sensitisation project GESCHWISTERKINDER which aims to promote the mental health and healthy development of siblings at an early age and strengthen their resilience through its preventive character.
